Rose

This style creates a full rose at the neck using only the scarf. It starts with a double knot between opposite points and by pulling the fabric through the opening it creates.

What you will need

• a 90 × 90 cm square silk scarf
• a mirror
• Time: about 3 minutes

Step-by-step instructions

1. Fold the scarf. Fold the scarf diagonally into a triangle.
2. Join the opposite points. Take two opposite points and tie them together with a secure double knot.
3. Create the base of the rose. Put one hand through the large opening between the knot and the body of the scarf. With your other hand, take the fabric and pull it back through the opening.
4. Shape the flower. Use your fingers to open the folds into a soft rose. Leave the two free ends pointing to the sides.
5. Wrap the scarf around your neck. Place the rose at the front and take the free ends around your neck, then bring them forward beneath the flower.
6. Secure the result. Tie the ends in a double knot beneath the rose and tuck them into the folds. Finish by opening the flower to the shape you prefer.

Tip

Shape the flower after the scarf is tied around your neck. The silk will stay fuller and the knot will not move while you arrange it.
