Bolero
Turn a large silk scarf into a light bolero that covers your shoulders and can be worn straight or shifted to one side.
What you will need
- a 90 × 90 cm square silk scarf
- a mirror
- Time: about 2 minutes
Step-by-step instructions
- Fold the scarf. Fold the scarf in half into a rectangle and align the edges.
- Drape it over your shoulders. Place the centre of the folded scarf across your back. Position it slightly asymmetrically so one side covers more of your shoulder.
- Bring the points forward. Bring both ends forward over your shoulders and make sure the back lies flat.
- Tie a double knot. Join the ends in front of your chest with a double knot. You can cover the knot with a brooch.
- Adjust the bolero. Shift the scarf towards the shoulder you want to cover more and smooth the silk across your shoulders and back.
Tip
Do not pull the knot too tight. The bolero should remain loose so the silk does not crease or restrict your shoulders.
