There are 4 basic color types

Each type has its own hue, value and chroma. Start with the season that feels closest to you, then explore specific recommendations for scarves, colors and styling.

Spring color type - silk scarf in bright warm colors

Spring type

The spring type embodies the freshness, lightness and warmth of the first spring days. The natural coloring is clear, bright and full of life, with a warm golden skin undertone and an overall fresh appearance.

SUMMER - light, cool and muted

Summer type

The summer type represents the gentle, cool elegance of summer water surfaces. The coloring is soft, muted and has a cool ashy undertone. The overall look is delicate, sophisticated and harmonious, with low contrast.

How to identify your type

You can do a practical test at home. The most reliable results come in daylight, without strong make-up and with your hair pulled away from the face.

Method 1: Gold vs. silver test

Hold a gold and silver scarf or paper near your face. If gold suits you more, you lean toward spring or autumn. If silver does, you lean toward summer or winter.

Method 2: Veins on the wrist

Look at the color of the veins on the inside of your wrist. Green veins often suggest a warm undertone; blue veins suggest a cool undertone.

Method 3: White paper test

Hold white paper next to your face and observe the cast of your skin. A yellow cast points to a warm undertone; a pink cast points to a cool one.

Rule: daylight

Do the analysis in front of a window, with light coming from the front. Artificial light significantly changes how hue and chroma are perceived.

Frequently asked questions

Can I belong to more than one type?

Yes. Many people sit on the border between types, which is why subtypes exist. If the result is unclear, we recommend a personal consultation.

Does my type change with age?

Your basic type remains, but with age you may move toward more muted shades within your type.

What if I color my hair?

Color Typology is based on natural coloring. Hair color should respect your type; otherwise the overall look can appear harsher or more tired.

Can I wear black if I am not a winter type?

Yes, but if black is not one of your best colors, do not wear it directly near the face. Use it for trousers or skirts and combine it with suitable shades.

What should I do if I cannot identify my type?

Book a personal color consultation with scarves. You will see the difference between the right and wrong shades immediately.
